About Frank's
Born in Villagrazia Di Carini - a small town outside of Palermo, Sicily - Frank Carollo came to America right after serving in the Italian military. He started working in Midtown Manhattan where he learned the art of pizza.
Shortly after, he met his future wife, Elizabeth, who was visiting the United States from Carini, Sicily. They married in Brooklyn and never looked back.
In 1978, they moved to Richmond, Virginia and bought Brother’s Pizza in Willow Lawn. Since 1978, they opened many Italian restaurants and pizzerias in Richmond, Conca D’Oro and D’Agostino’s to name a few.
In 1991, they opened Frank’s Ristorante & Pizzeria in Stony Point where they have been ever since.
Frank and Elizabeth have two children, Rosanna and Giuseppe. Rosanna is married to her husband, Tony, and they have two children. Growing up in the restaurant business, Giuseppe decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. He opened Bocca Toscana in the West End in 2009. Giuseppe decided to sell Bocca Toscana in 2013 in order to focus on continuing Frank’s success in Bon Air. He is married to his wife, Lauren, and they have two children.
With over 45 years of restaurant experience, the Carollo family has created a charming, authentic Italian dining experience in the heart of Bon Air.
